Our Link with Emmanuel Parish, Forest Gate

Forest Gate link update….

A few of us from St Peter’s and Emmanuel gathered early in the year to discuss how we can develop our Church Twinning. Everyone agreed that we had had excellent visits to each other and that the whole experience had been really good for all who had taken part. We agreed that the important thing was for church members from both parishes to get to know each other better. So quite a few ideas have been suggested:

·         We will let each other know about important events, and give an open invitation to join each other’s events.

·         We will include each other in intercessions and perhaps have prayer partners

·         We will organise for a small group of our people to go to Forest Gate for a Sunday morning service, and vice versa.

·         We will sing Choral Evensong together once a year at Coggeshall

·         Each church should have a board with photos and names underneath of each others' keen twinners.

·         We hope to develop some children's/school activities

Emmanuel are important partners in the inter-faith group, Faithful Friends. Details here.

Twinning dates 2010:

Sunday 25th April: small group from Emmanuel come to St Peter’s. Emmanuel members to read, intercede and assist with the chalice

Sunday 20th June: Open Gardens in Coggeshall - Emmanuel members to join us here for the afternoon and for prayers at the end of the day.

Sunday 18th July: Main visit from St Peter’s to Forest Gate. Travelling up after morning service, arriving for lunch.

Sunday 17th October: small group from Coggeshall to travel to Forest Gate to join in morning worship.
