St Peter’s CurateRosemary Morton trained for ordination at Westcott House in Cambridge for three years and was ordained Deacon at Chelmsford Cathedral on Sunday 4th July 2010. Prior to ordination training, Rosemary was an administrator in the Ministries department of the United Reformed Church, dealing mainly with ministerial data and child protection. She has also studied at the Royal Academy of Music and worked as a professional musician, playing the bassoon with orchestras and choral societies across the UK, and performing the occasional solo recital. Rosemary also enjoys playing the piano, clarinet, violin, and baroque bassoon, and has a particular interest in liturgy and music. Rosemary comes to Coggeshall from Wembley
Subject to the normal legal formalities, Rosemary will take on the role as St Peter's full-time curate (overlapping with Judith Sweetman until Judith leaves us in September). As a parish we can be delighted that St Peter’s is a place where someone will receive good experience of ministry and church family life, to equip them for the church's ministry in years to come.
Rosemary is pictured (top) at her ordination with the Bishop of Colchester and the Coggeshall clergy team and (bottom) with Fr Bill and Fr Philip in the Lady Chapel the week before her ordination. "So - what does a curate do"?. ________________________________________
