Music at St Peter ad Vincula

Be a Chorister

The choir welcomes new members in all parts, including boys and girls from the age of 7 (Year 3).

We run two "Be a Chorister" mornings each year for would-be juniors. Potential adult choristers are welcome to find out more by attending a Friday evening practice, and should be prepared to undertake a short audition with the Director of Music if required.

Junior choristers are required to satisfactorily complete a four month probationary period of training and attendance before formal admission to the choir is able to take place, which may also include an audition. Opportunities for progressing on the RSCM Voice for Life ribbons programme are also available.

Membership of the choir teaches many skills including self-discipline, organisation, and working as a team, as well as providing a free musical education and opportunities to sing a variety of music in a beautiful and ancient building.

For more information about being a junior chorister at St Peter's, click here to download a fact sheet as a Word document.

If you or your children are interested in joining the Choir, then please do get in touch with the Director of Music, Philip Prior, who will be glad to discuss this with you.
