The Organ Appeal |
||
|
There has been no major work done to the St Peter's organ since the Mander rebuild in 1959. Now, nearly 50 years on, parts of the action are wearing out, and another major rebuild is required. The St Peter's Organ Appeal was launched in November 2005, to include a new three manual drawstop console with modern solid state electronics, some additional new stops to make the organ more versatile. It will also include a proper organ case for the existing pipework and a smaller two manual and pedal chancel organ division behind the choir stalls to help choral accompaniment. The total cost of this work will be about £140,000 and, although we already have half of the money, there is still a long way to go. Your donations towards the appeal would be very welcome - please do pick up an Organ Appeal Brochure from the church or click here to Download Organ Appeal Brochure as PDF file. Please do contact the Director of Music, Philip Prior, for more information about the Appeal.
