Choral Evensong

Once a month at St Peter's, our choir leads the traditional sung evening service of Choral Evensong, from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

The service takes place at 5.15pm in church, and lasts for approximately 45 minutes. Everyone attending is invited to sit in the choir stalls with the choir and clergy.

Evensong is normally on the fourth Sunday of the month, and is a service full of music, including responses, psalms, a musical setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, along with an Introit and Anthem suitable for the day. The congregation join in hymns, prayers and quiet reflection.

Choir practice for Evensong is always at 4pm.
