Youth groups 'Slum Survivor' weekend

Twinning Trip to Forest Gate

A group of 20 of us travelled from St Peter’s to Forest Gate on a beautiful sunny day, using the Coggeshall Community Bus. It was marvellous to meet with folk from Emmanuel Church, who had arranged a visit for us to a Sikh Gudwarra (temple) and Shi-ite (Muslim) mosque.

It was good again to see the multi-faith environment in which Emmanuel Church exists, and we gained a new insight into these religions. There is so much that unites people of faith, but much dialogue is needed, to better understand each other. Emmanuel Church has been instrumental in establishing a “Faithful Friends” project, which seeks to draw together people from the different faiths, to meet together socially, get to know one another, and to hear from each other about different aspects of their faith. The project needs some financial help, to help pay for speakers, administration and venues.
