St Peter's School is "outstanding"
Coggeshall’s Church of England Primary School has been identified as ‘outstanding’ by a Statutory Church Inspection report published today. The report says that the school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners, and is exemplary in the way it serves the local community. It is rare to be identified as ‘outstanding’ in all categories of an inspection. This Statutory Church Inspection follows on from a recent OFSTED Inspection of St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, which was also glowing in its evaluation of the school. During the recent Church Inspection, children, staff and governors were interviewed, and the impact of the school’s leadership, management, ethos and worship were monitored. The report says: “The school is a happy, caring school, which reflects the Christian values which lie at the heart of all that is done. The pupils show that they have benefited greatly from their time at St Peter’s. The ethos of the school is led by the headteacher who has a very clear vision for the school and how it can be a church school and yet inclusive to all.” The inspection revealed that good relationships throughout the school community lie at the heart of the school’s life, which provides the basis for a secure and supportive environment for learning, development and success. Headteacher Peter Anderson says: “We are extremely pleased with this outstanding report as it reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone associated with St Peter’s Primary School. We will continue to build on this successful inspection to ensure that all our children gain the most from their time at our school.” The Rev’d Philip Banks, Vicar of Coggeshall, says: “It is a delight to be one of the Church Foundation governors, and to be able to contribute to the life of our school, which plays such an important role in the community here. Our school seeks to create a caring and nurturing environment, and I know that the links with our church help to contribute to this, and to an awareness of the spiritual dimension in the lives of all children.” ENDS The text of the OFSTED and Church Inspection Report is on the school website. |
